My First Ever "Miles for Music" Appearance

My self published children's book "Confident Cupcake" was still so new when I went to my first elementary school appearance as a substitute music teacher that I only had my first ever "prototype" and not the official book yet. But that didn't stop me from creating one of the most motivational moments that I experienced with the students which has inspired Miles for Music.

A little fun fact was that I was not planning to play the piano that day! I was going to read my book to kids and then talk a little bit about what I do outside of pageantry. It wasn't until the music teacher informed me 5 minutes before seeing my first class that he would roll in their piano so I could play for the kids after reading.

This would later be the best surprise ever. Without the piano, I wouldn't have been able to create an incredible bond and have an absolute blast with each class. Many found out what classical music was for the first time, others were inspired to start piano and learn the universal language of music.

After visiting Tibbals Elementary, it became my mission to make sure I would be able to reach out to as many kids as possible through my organization Miles for Music to teach them how to express themselves proudly with their own passions like I do through piano and to always be confident!

Still didn't have my official copy of my book so I had my spiral book "prototype" to read to the kids!
