Full Circle Moment at Tibbals Elementary

Returning to Tibbals Elementary, where my journey with Miles for Music began, was an incredibly special experience. Just one year ago, I visited this school for the first time, introducing my unpublished book Confident Cupcake and the idea of combining piano music with a story about self-expression. To return today, seeing how far we've come, is truly a full-circle moment.

In just one year, Miles for Music has grown far beyond what I could have imagined. With two self-published books, a donated Casio keyboard, and over 4,600 students reached, the progress has been overwhelming. I am deeply grateful for the support that has allowed the program to flourish and for the opportunities to work with so many wonderful children.

This visit was made even more meaningful by having my little sister, Ellie, by my side. She has been with me from the beginning, and her presence helped make the experience even more memorable. Watching her engage with the students was a reminder of the power of family and the importance of collaboration in building something meaningful.

Reflecting on the past year, I’m filled with a deep sense of gratitude and inspiration. Seeing the impact of Miles for Music—whether through shy students finding their confidence or children embracing their creative voices—has been incredibly rewarding. The journey so far has been emotional, and the opportunity to give children the tools for self-expression through music has been a privilege.

As I look ahead, I am excited about the future of Miles for Music and the many more students we will reach. The journey is just beginning, and I am grateful for everyone who has been part of it!
