I was so excited to be back at Tibbals Elementary School for a holiday Miles for Music visit just before winter break. There’s something extra special about returning to a school year after year and watching the impact grow.
What began as a mission to share my little sister Ellie’s story has blossomed into something so much bigger—a statewide celebration of confidence, creativity, and self-expression. Seeing students connect with the message and carry it in their own unique way is the greatest gift.
This visit was even more memorable because my younger brother Chris joined me for the entire day. Not only did he jump in to help, he also showcased his own talents and passions! We turned one performance moment into an epic showdown: speed-running my Miss America Organization talent piece versus his Rubik’s Cube speed solve. The students were completely locked in, cheering us on and loving every second. It was such a fun way to highlight that everyone’s gifts look different—and that’s what makes them powerful.
And of course, I had to bring a little holiday sparkle! I wore the cutest festive sweater from Brianna Cannon, which felt absolutely perfect for celebrating with the Tibbals Tigers.
Huge thank you to Mrs. Leech for welcoming me back once again and to all the amazing students for making the day unforgettable.
Third year really might be the best year yet—and I can’t wait to see where the music takes us next!
